This is a translation; if the English and Italian versions differ, the Italian version prevails.
Italian Brawls is a free game you play in your browser. Here you can see what data it collects, what it is used for and how long it is kept. In short: no ads, no profiling, no selling of data.
Who processes the data
Data controller: the operator of Italian Brawls, based in Italy.
Contact: info@italianbrawls.it or the form on the Contact page.
What data and why
1. Technical connection data
Your IP address, browser and operating system reach Cloudflare, which hosts the game, so that it can deliver the pages and protect them from attacks. The game does not store your IP address. For anti-abuse limits (for example too many sign-ups or too many votes from the same network) it uses an encrypted, non-reversible fingerprint of the network: for the limits it expires on its own (from 15 minutes to 24 hours), while next to votes, proposals and reports it is kept to prevent multiple votes.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security of the service (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
2. Game statistics
A random device code (it contains neither your name nor any other personal data), the screens you open, the buttons you tap, matches (mode, characters, results), loading times, errors, the referring page and any campaign parameters, language, screen size, device type, and country and city as estimated by Cloudflare. They are used only to understand what works and what to improve in the game.
These are our own first-party statistics: no cookies, no IP address, no cross-referencing with other sites or services. You can turn them off whenever you like from the notice shown at the start, from Profile > Settings in the game, or from the Cookies page.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the game (Art. 6.1.f GDPR). Retention: tap-level detail 30 days, sessions and matches 400 days.
3. Account
Email, password (stored only as an encrypted fingerprint, never in plain text), Google account identifier if you sign in with Google, leaderboard name, confirmation that you are at least 14 years old, dates of creation and last login. When you create the account, the device code is linked to the account so that the progress you made as a guest carries over. If you sign in with Google, we store only the email and the identifier from your Google profile.
Legal basis: performance of the service you request (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Retention: until you delete the account from Profile > Delete account. After deletion, only a non-reversible fingerprint is kept for 90 days, which serves to prevent anyone from getting around a suspension by recreating the account.
4. Ranked matches and progress
Score, level, ranked matches (opponent, characters, outcome), overall and weekly leaderboards, Approval, missions and unlocked characters. Your leaderboard name and points are visible to other players.
Legal basis: performance of the service (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Retention: as long as the account exists; guest progress stays tied to the device code.
5. Lobby, friends and Parliament
Lobby chat messages, visible to whoever is online (the server keeps only the last 40, and for 24 hours at most, with an automatic filter that removes links, emails, numbers and swear words), your friends list and friend requests (requests expire after 30 days), poll votes, proposals (visible to others with your name) and reports, which come with some technical data useful for understanding the problem: game version, device type, screen, system, browser and country.
Legal basis: performance of the service and legitimate interest in moderation (Art. 6.1.b and 6.1.f GDPR). Retention: for as long as they are needed to run the community; you can ask for them to be deleted.
6. Service emails and messages
To confirm your sign-up and to recover your password we write to you from noreply@italianbrawls.it: only necessary emails. News about the game (new politicians, arenas, events) is sent only if you ask for it by ticking the optional box at sign-up or in your profile: the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from your profile or from the link at the bottom of every email. We keep your choice and the date you made it. If you write to us through the Contact form, we keep the message, the email address for the reply (if you leave one) and the same technical data as for reports.
Legal basis: performance of the service and replying to your requests (Art. 6.1.b GDPR).
Who else sees the data
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosts the game, the database and the sending of emails, and protects it from attacks, including with the Turnstile anti-robot check on the sign-up, login, contact and Parliament forms. It processes data on our behalf as a data processor. Data may pass through the United States, with the safeguards of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google", under the rules of Google's privacy policy.
- Other players: they see your name, your leaderboard points, your chat messages and the proposals you publish.
No one else: we do not sell or hand over data and we do not show ads.
Minors
To create an account and play ranked matches you must be at least 14 years old, the age at which in Italy you can give consent to online services on your own. Under 14 you can play as a guest, without an account.
Your rights
You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data and object to the processing (Arts. 15-22 GDPR) by writing to info@italianbrawls.it. Many things you can already do yourself in the game: change your name from your profile, delete your account, turn off the statistics. If you think your data is being handled improperly you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Security
Connection always encrypted (HTTPS), passwords stored only as an encrypted fingerprint, session cookies not readable by the page's scripts, administration panels accessible only with a key.
Changes
If something important changes we will write it here, with the update date at the top, and let you know in the game.
